Granite is an ingenious rock formed as a result of volcanic eruption from time to time with a blend of different minerals present in natural soil along with quartz, silica, mica obsidian and feldspar with a blend of other natural minerals. The combination of these mineral together is known to be stronger than steel as quartz provides strength, luster and the glue that holds the minerals, while feldspar brings color and a resistance to discoloration hence giving the specific texture to the final product which is not only strong but also depict the natural beauty.
The raw form of granite stone is quarried by jet piercing or drilling but is never done by blasting technique. Once quarried large slabs are cut by special saws and then polished. Polishing gives a lustrous look to the granite similar to glass as well as sealing the pores in it therefore preventing the absorption of liquids which spill on it hence making granite stain free. Polishing is done with large metal discs or abrasive bricks made from silicon carbide.
